Puppy Worms

Well, after much discussion, debate and persuading, I finally talked my husband into getting us a puppy. We picked up Trip Sunday. He is an adorable Shuh-Tzu and full of character. He is only 9 weeks old so he resembles a gerbil...LOL He has just been so sweet an an absolute joy. The boys haven't seen him yet as they are with dad until Wednesday so they are going to be pretty shocked. My boys are such animal lovers and think kind of surprises me because their dad and I aren't HUGE into many animals, but those boys will flock to any type.

So anyway, here comes the crazy part...something I have never experienced...Trip pooped a Roundworm this morning! He had his first shots and was dewormed before we picked him up so I was in shock! I knew dogs could get worms, but I had never seen them! It looked like cooked spaghetti! There was only one in there, about two inches long but I was in panic mode... So I was envisioning the house requiring Hazmat, deworming me and the hubby and an all out freak out clean...you know, that crazy, you just know something is going to crawl on you or in you clean... I called the gal we got Trip from and she assured me this was normal and he is probably passing what may have been left over as well as calmed my nerves with the thought of us getting them.  So then I, being the type that isn't satisfied with one answer, called my aunt who used to work for a Veterinarian and manages a county Humane Shelter to get her input. She said the same thing and giggled at my neurotic frenzy. So, I guess this is a normal thing and he should be just fine...He goes to the vet in three weeks so I am sure he will be just fine.

Here is my new baby, little Trip.

All About ME Monday Favorite Holiday Memory

This particular ALL ABOUT ME MONDAY over at Casual Blogger Community, got me to really thinking! I have so many fond memories of not only the boys over the years, but from my own childhood. Coming from a divorced home it was pretty crazy at this "Most Wonderful Time Of The Year". I actually enjoyed or should I say, made the best of the hectic schedules. But my absolute best Christmas memories were going to my Grandma and Grandpas. I loved the feeling of absolute love all around, cousins playing, adults laughing and seeing family you didn't ordinarily see. My grandma had a deep freeze that all the desserts went on. There were always more desserts than there was "food" or so I thought. My Aunts famous peanut better fudge (that one year I got sick from eating too much, but still went back for more) and my other Aunts candy cane cookies. I often get sad with the thought that my boys never really had that experience with my grandparents like I did.

One recent memory we all laugh about today is last year we were coming back from my fathers and we were all singing Christmas songs... 12 Days of Christmas came up and the more frustrated we got at forgetting 10, 11 and 12th day...my husband sped a little more...until he got pulled over... we were all laughing as the officer came up and I was able to explain what was going on...we didn't get a ticket but before he left, I asked "Do you happen to know the last few days of 12 Days of Christmas?" He just giggled and shook his head...

But, through it all, my absolute fondest memories are every Christmas I get to enjoy with my boys and knowing that I can share my love and belief in Christ our Savior.Hopefully to always keep the Joy and Christ in Christmas!

Where has the time GONE

Wow! It has been over two weeks since I posted! What has been going on? Hmmm... I can't really answer that! Okay, I could... CHRISTMAS! Need I say more! I hadn't done any shopping at all until a few days ago. I still am not done nor am I ready! I love shopping but wrapping presents...it's kinda like doing all the laundry but not wanting to fold and put away...Can I just stuff all their stuff in laundry baskets? Hehehe! I actually have help from the hubby to wrap, so that makes it more fun! Well, except the Military in him really comes out and each package has to be perfect! LOL It's cute, but frustrating when we are rushed for time and he gets meticulous. Sometimes he gets kinda Martha Stewart and makes the packages all different shapes and decorations...I'm not complaining, I appreciate his help. So now I have a few more to get for then let the wrapping begin! I VOW to start shopping earlier this next year!

Who has started with their New Years resolutions? I am thinking about what I need to work on...coming up with some good ideas...LOL I do know I want to make it a blog and be a place for others to share and comment so whatever I do, it better be GOOD!! One of my many is to blog faithfully everyday ;)

Aside from the shopping and wrapping I can't complain. In fact I should be shouting praises. I have great, healthy and happy kids...I have a loving, devoted and dare I say SEXY husband ;) And we have been blessed to have a military job and benefits. Wonderful friends... But most of all I am grateful for the knowledge that we have a loving and forgiving Father in Heaven who even though I may not always like the results, knows what is best for all His children.Thank you for the comfort.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Kicking Around

When I hear "Tis the Season" I wonder what really is "Tis the Season"... What does that mean...Surely not "To be jolly..." because it is usually said in disdain. So I was thinking, for me, it means Christmas Parties! Don't get me wrong, I enjoy attending and usually have a good time, but how many of you kind of dread them? The whole finding something to wear, getting kids around (if allowed), taking a gift or food, the small talk when you get there, when to leave... There are other meanings...too much money spent, weather, running around.. Hohumm...

My other issue, Facebook! I love FB! I enjoy status updates...commenting and especially the "like" button...But here is my problem, I have a friend that every time I post something of interest, maybe a link etc... always manages to make a catty comment and usually negative and sometimes incorrect on facts he spouts. So, I have given up on posting anything that could be controversial due to this. And I am also bummed a bit because although I love having certain family and friend, I just don't post what I used to or really want. I guess that is another reason I made a blog...I know I will hear the "Post anyway, who cares" but I also want to remain respectful and not rock the boat. I guess keeping my motto : Pick your battles... So in the mean time, I will remain a bit subdued on posts and vent here... Does anyone else feel this way?

Well, I am about to try my hand on making "lotion bars"... Hope it turns out because the money I spent to make these I could have bought a couple of nice gifts! LOL So, we shall see... Anyone else made these?

Thanks for stopping by! More to come, have a couple more items on my mind... will get to after my bar endeavour!
